To the method of rendering the figure, Ohni’s multi colored line forms have been ever-present throughout her career. There is a quietness to them even though they are are quite colorful and graphic. Lisle enjoys rendering with this airiness and immediacy. The feeling of a figure looking complete and undone at the same time is the sweet spot for Ohni. This quietly hints at the human condition - we are all constantly changing and complete in our in present imperfect moment.
The work in this show exists in the boundary between commercial illustration and fine art - work that is meant to immediately communicate, form a connection and immerse the viewer in an experience.
Ohni Lisle was born in Canada, raised in Texas and received a BA in Interdisciplinary Arts and Design from University of North Texas 2009. Ohni's work is generally commissioned in the commercial art and illustration fields and this is her first solo show.
